Working cleanly and safely
In vehicle construction – including special-purpose vehicles, utility vehicles, construction machinery or car repairs and body maintenance – the kinds of work that require an angle grinder, or the cutting or finishing of metal parts are very varied. Steel is the material usually worked with – and to a lesser extent aluminium and stainless steel. The grinding tool or cutting disc used here should be perfectly matched to both these materials and to the respective application.
We help you pick the right product and offer some useful tips for safe usage – whether in vehicle construction or car repair work.

Quality for first-class working results
Automotive engineering is one of the sectors where ‘Made in Germany’ has truly made a name for itself. All over the world, German vehicles and special-purpose vehicles are synonymous with performance, progress and safety. RHODIUS is able to meet these exacting standards.
Tips and tricks from pros, for pros

Cutting out thin metal sheets
Essentially, the cutting disc used here can never be thin enough. And it’s even better if it doesn’t cause the sheet metal to buckle.

Removing rust or old paint
Abrasive non-woven discs are ideal here. For hard-to-reach areas, MINI discs can be used, which start at diameters of just 50 mm.

Dressing spot welds
Perfect control of the grinding tool is needed in vehicle construction. Here, a flap disc from the VISION series offers a clear view at all times.

Even more grinding tools for vehicle construction and body making
The RHODIUS grinding tools product range, which includes cutting discs and grinding discs for vehicle construction, body making and car repair work is a truly comprehensive portfolio, offering products for cutting especially thin metal sheets, removing welding seams in hard-to-reach places, working with steel for vehicle subframe construction, and removing paint residues or rust before priming and painting work.
The RHODIUS SVS non-woven disc offers especially gentle abrasion that does not damage the surface. Care is needed, however: a non-woven disc is only suitable for use on an adjustable-speed angle grinder or straight grinder. The non-woven material will melt at excessive speeds. The optimum speed here ranges from 3000 rpm to 7000 rpm. The RHODIUS SVS disc is naturally also available as a MINI version for use on straight grinders – because who actually wants to dismantle half the vehicle just to make a few repairs to the bodywork?
